Summary
Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy have survived more than most people could imagine. Being honest with each other has never been one of those things.
What began as Leon crashing on her couch after a bad night slowly became a year of stolen nights and a relationship hidden from everyone, including Claire's older brother. When Claire finally tells Leon she loves him, he sneaks away without a word. Three months later, she's carrying his child.
She's still figuring out how to tell him when the people who've been watching her make their move. They don't want Claire. They want what she's carrying.
Getting her back will take everyone who loves her: a brother still reeling from betrayal, the friends who have always shown up, and a man who finally has to decide if he's brave enough to stay.

Summary
We find that certain endeavors, some of consider-
able importance, can present one as beautiful and contempt-
able while they are envied in others, but in the absence of
a critical and comparative reward it is impossible to say
which of the great mass of indiscretions now composing
the prose belonged to rumors or redaction. In short, the
Lancelot Problem involves a number of minor problems of
extreme intricacy, and till these be solved we can only
stand on the threshold of criticism.or:
Leon’s arch-nemesis is himself. The hardest thing to understand about human nature is the humanity of it all: there is nothing more wretched than hope, more selfish than love, more ugly than content, or more daunting than accepting the terror that comes from gaining any combination of them. Claire is all three, wrapped in a trench coat. The unimportance of being important, how difficult it is to let someone love you when you don’t love yourself, and many other contradictions, hypocrisies and straight up lies that make the world worth fighting for.
