[A video taken from outside of the McLaren hospitality. There was some reflection on the glass, but the inside was still visible. Lando was clearly in his flamingo form just sort of standing there. The real point of interest was Oscar in his bunny form. He was running slow lopping circles around Lando.]

Summary
George Russell was born without a Soulmarker.
This has never been recorded in known history. This isn't in any of the doctoring books or journals and isn't an easy diagnosis to come to terms with, even if George's had to deal with it all his life. He just wears about a million dampeners, so people assume he's very secretive about his soulmate rather than realising he doesn't have one at all.
Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen have been Soul-bonded for a very long time and each have the Soulmarkers to prove their relationship as soulmates. They also have a huge secret.
The obvious response to their secret is to force George to deal with their bullshit during Summer Break by dragging him off to a luxury diving resort in the middle of nowhere and forcing him to be social.
Cue George having to desperately try to hide his secret while being half-dressed for three weeks.

Summary
Liam never had the Rookie experience.
It's a little fact he hardly thinks about truth be told, a small thing that only sometimes nags at the back of his mind, something so small, so irrelevant he feels a little embarrassed to even acknowledge at all most of the time, let alone allow himself to feel anything regarding it.
F1 is fast. F1 is unpredictable. F1 is harsh.
At least that was his experience: Liam wasn't taught how to navigate it, he was one of those kids who learned how to swim by being thrown on the deep end while the adults around watched with vague interest, not overly worried about the possibility of him sinking because they had other kids waiting by the shore.
He didn't know things could be different, but oh how clearly he saw that they could.
Just not for him.
Or: 5 times Liam didn't think he mattered as much to Max and the Rookies and the ensuing crash outs they had over it.

I've taken the real life scenario of George Russell's DNF and turned it into a more dangerous one. Inspired by Silo S3 E1 and real life F1 Belgium GP 2026. My brain somehow made this work.
Trigger warning: This is fictional and is not real. (George IRL is okay). Involves dangerous crash situations and some medical trauma.

Max is absolutely including Liam into the roster, because he still looks so young and excited and nervous about his season, and he keeps spiking his hair up with some silly hair gel which then makes Max want to smooth it back down, and—
There are six rookies on the grid. Which is totally fine, and Max is completely normal about. 100%, totally normal.
It’s his fucking cat instincts that seem to have a problem with them.

In a world full of animal shifters, Max being able to turn into a cat shouldn't be that weird. It wouldn't be, if Jos hadn't spent Max's entire life convincing the world Max could turn into a lion and not a house cat. Now, Max is stuck wrangling both his cat instincts and six rookies while trying to not let the entire world find out his brand "Unleash the lion" is a lie.
Somehow, Charles is involved in all of this. Max isn't quite sure how.
