His brain can’t wrap around what just happened, and he can distantly hear the stupefied and hiccuping laugh he let out, knees giving out under him, hands breaking his fall on the harsh concrete of the construction site.

Summary
It seems rather funny, in retrospective, how it felt like the world as he knew it seemed to fall apart at the seems when he finally got a hold of the feelings raging inside him. Rather funny, considering how, merely a month or so later, he finds himself perched on a ledge only wide enough to have him not instantly fall to his death, bludgeoned by the impact waiting for him, or worse, mauled by his former classmates turned flesh-eating monsters. — Suhyeok.

Cheongsan cannot decipher Suhyeok’s tone for the life of him, but he does seem to notice something akin to hope, glimmering inside the pool of Suhyeok’s eyes. He would recognize that desperate twinkle anywhere, having seen it enough times reflected in his own gaze, usually after Suhyeok had touched him, or spoke to him in that peculiar way of his, sending his bruised heart into overdrive. — Cheongsan.

“Stop trying to climb on me,” Erling counters, wiping tears of laughter out of his eyes.
“I will if you just carry me.”
“But why am I always carrying you?”
“Because you’re huge, mate,” Jude giggles, sliding down to the ground again after another unsuccessful mounting attempt. “And I’m only little.”
Erling snorts. “You’re six foot, Jude.”

Summary
They were supposed to slowly, imperceptibly drift apart.
They weren’t supposed to meet in the quarter finals of the World Cup with the entire world obsessed over the history of their friendship. And Jude certainly wasn’t supposed to let all that get to him, let all the noise disturb the perfectly assembled facade he’d had in place for years now.
He was so fucking stupid.
And now he’s sitting here drowning in every bad decision he’s made, and the worst part, the worst part, is the one person he knows could haul him back to dry land is the one who had unmoored him to begin with.
OR
An encounter in the locker room after the quarter finals leads to Jude running away, Erling chasing after him, and the soft beginnings of something new.

Summary
England is knocked out of the World Cup and Jude Bellingham feels like his world is coming to an end. His teammates are worried about him. His parents don't want to leave him alone in his hotel room. But he just wants to curl up and sob into his bed until the bronze medal match in three days.
Of course Erling Haaland could never let something like that happen to his favorite player.
