The elevator was continuing its trek up to the pediatric floor, when the lights flickered. Buck looked up at the lights, wondering if a bulb was going out when the elevator jolted to a stop, throwing Buck and the woman into the wall and causing the kid to roll into the door. The lights flickered once or twice more before the elevator went dark with another large clap of thunder.

He didn't entirely blame Chim for being mad at him, but what was he supposed to do, betray the confidence of his sister? And Chim couldn't say a word, after keeping the "family secret" from Buck, but telling a common criminal? After knowing Buck and the issues he has had with his family. At the very least he could have made Maddie tell him before he found out by accident. But he didn't, he chose to keep that hidden from him. But Buck forgave him, and moved past it, why couldn't Chim do the same?
