Summary
Ladybird would follow Hyuckle to the ends of the world, and this time was no different. Them along their other strange teammates, a minotaur named Alesia, an elven-Tiefling named Silver, and a half-orc named Moth, were desperate for money. Having just escaped being slave soldiers for the fascist Elven regime, the group had little beyond the clothes on their backs and the weapons they had stolen. And despite their shared history, the best paying job they could find involved finding a magical artifact for the very same government that they had just escaped. Armed with the monstrosity of their shared natures, and a human who could talk his way out of almost anything, the group set off, unaware of the true power of what they sought.

Summary
“If I can see, I can remember” Johnny had said while staring at him through the bars of his cage. His face held an intensity that █̵͎̊͠█̷̖̈́̄█̴̛͕̖̉ hadn’t seen since his first or second year in the basement. And it wracked █̸̣͎͂̑͋█̸͙̰̙́͌̉█̶͉̋ with guilt. He was willing to do almost anything to make the other man more comfortable. A blanket was his first offer but no. Johnny wanted more, he wanted █̸̣͎͂̑͋█̸͙̰̙́͌̉█̶͉̋ to blind him. Nothing else would have done the trick and █̷͍̽͛█̷̛̝̪́͋̕ͅ█̵̲̲̈́̎ tried everything to get him to change his mind. But Johnny knew what he wanted, and █̷͇̘̳̭̞͉͑̓͗█̵̺̾█̵̛̻͌̾̀͛’ tried to give him everything that he wanted if only to make up for his everything else he'd done...

Kremy Lecroux doesn’t believe in fate. He believes in odds, in chances, in debts that always come due. He made a deal years ago: love for power. It seems like an easy trade until he meets someone who makes him want to risk it all.
Gideon Coal is a man outrunning his past, and falling for his boss and best friend was never part of the plan, but something about Kremy keeps pulling him closer than he’s ever let anyone get.
Stuck between contract and confession, Kremy learns too late that power always demands its price.
PART ONE of a 3-part series covering the events of and leading up to Once Upon a Witchlight focused on deepening the characterization while exploring the relationship between Kremy and Gideon.

“You’re… impulsive and… inexperienced, and I worry that these things may lead you to...”
“Lead me to what, Obi-Wan?” Anakin pressed.
