Summary
Chauncey is dead. Stede flees. But he doesn't end up where he planned -- not that he had really planned at all.
Thinking he's accepting help from some friendly fellow pirates, Stede winds up in the hands of human traffickers. He becomes fiercely protective of the other men in captivity, putting himself in harm’s way to keep them safe – and alive.
Escape seems impossible, but Stede has always been frustratingly optimistic. He knows he’ll find his way back to Ed – or die trying.

Jaskier screamed, spinning around and dropping the book, which Geralt caught in an instant. “What the hell??” Jaskier complained, gasping for breath.
“So you can still speak. Why didn’t you? It’s unlike you to be so silent.”
“It’s unlike you to care,” Jaskier bit back, then scowled, putting the book back on the shelf and turning to leave.
Aka: Yennefer and Jaskier don't get separated after she saves him from Rience, and they go to find Geralt together. Oh, and Jaskier's got abandonment issues.
