Rumi is the worst kind of self sufficient. The kind that's wholy and truly dedicated to never letting her needs get in the way of anybody, even her doting pack who love to be there for her.
Upon entering preheat on a day where alpha's Mira and Zoey have particularly packed schedules, Rumi figures there's no harm in braving her preheat on her own! She can manage, she'll be fine, they can go and she'll handle herself till they get back!

To say that Rumi was terrified would be an understatement.
Her palms pressed against her pajama pants as she stood in front of Mira's room, feebly attempting to dry her hands before she went inside to be with them. Her pack mates' scents coming between the cracks of the door was strong. Eagerness and excitement from Zoey swam along the distinct smell of Mira, and she couldn't help but feel stupid over being so nervous.
They were her pack.
Her family.
There was no reason to be afraid of them; they loved her.
They loved her. Rumi took a shaky breath as she wrapped her arms around herself. Her hand grasped onto her sweatshirt above her patterns as she repeated the words in her mind. They loved her.
Her hand reached for the door handle before she could stop herself, and she felt the tension leave her shoulders when Zoey and Mira's gaze met hers.
"Rumi!"
