Summary
Rain pours as a pick-up truck barrels down the Nebraska road, windshield wipers beating against the glass. It’s pitch black outside as Dennis stares out at the flat landscape. He tries to avoid glancing at his parents in the front seat in hopes that they might not bring up what just happened at school. This is the first time Dennis has ever truly feared how his parents would react to something.
Dennis Whitaker finds himself in a desperate situation when he receives help from a mysterious man. He takes Dennis to a place where everything is perfect, away from the horrors of his life. But not everything is as it seems and nothing is ever perfect.
