    Summary

Aang, Katara, and Toph are worried. Air, fire, water, earth—none of their bending is acting right, and it only seems to be getting worse, not better. They’re determined to get to the bottom of it, whether it’s a Spirit imbalance or energybending gone wrong or something else entirely.

Sokka thinks the explanation might be a little more mundane than that. He just needs to do a little research first to confirm it. Good thing the International Summit means there are plenty of people around who might have the answers.

    OR,

Aang, Katara, and Toph’s bending is changing in ways they can’t control or anticipate, in ways they’ve never experienced before. Sokka thinks it sounds pretty familiar.

    OR,

How Sokka gives a room full of international dignitaries The Talk.

    Summary

Tain is studying the Human when he wakes. The former head of the Obsidian Order is in pain, and he is dying, but he knows better than to show it. And, well. Here is a doctor.

    --

The door whooshes open, Julian looks up, and all thoughts about Ferengi artery maps disappear. Julian stares.

    Garak stares back.

    “What are you drinking, Doctor?”

Bashir looked up from his half-empty cup. Inside rested something that was a deeply unnatural shade of blue and clearly frozen. If Garak had seen it in Quark’s he wouldn’t have thought twice about it, but it was an unusual choice for the Replimat.

    Summary

"No, it's fine," Julian said automatically. "But, Garak, is everything all right?"

"Captain Sisko wanted to see me," Garak said—which was so conspicuous a refusal to answer the question Julian had asked that it almost didn't qualify as an evasion. He pulled out the chair opposite Julian, and sat.

    "Captain Sisko? Why?"

"Well, apparently," Garak said, "Cardassia has lodged a formal request with the Federation for my extradition."

(Or: Garak has a problem. Julian marries him to fix it. Except that means Julian also has a problem, albeit of a very different kind.)

    Summary

Julian has no soulmark. He knows what that must mean, and he's learned to accept it. Meeting Garak, getting to know him, is almost enough to make him think—but it's not possible. Garak must have a soulmate, and there's simply no way it could be Julian. Right?

(Or: five times Julian thought he was alone, plus the time he realized he'd been wrong all along.)
