Summary
Xeno lives with his head above the clouds, far beyond where Stanley's wings can fly, blinded to anything but starlight and rocket fire. Stanley loves him from down on Earth, even if it means accepting that his own light goes unseen.
It isn't what Stanley wants, but it's enough. He has most of Xeno, and that is all that the man knows how to give. There isn't any piece of him that belongs to anyone but his partner in crime, and that's enough to keep Stanley going.
Strictly business. Deadpan. A soldier receiving his orders– Stanley listens intently. He answers Xeno's simple trajectory problem around the same time he realizes that the man he would die for may very well be the one to kill him after all, because they're planning to launch his ass to the moon.
Well, shit.
Maybe if he finds a place of his own up there in the night sky, Xeno will finally open his eyes and really see him.
Stanley huffs a laugh under his breath. Yeah, like that will happen.
