After Christmas, Asahi and Watarai are dating.
Asahi knows this. Technically.
He knows it when Watarai walks him home, when Watarai saves him a seat, when Watarai looks at him like the rest of the classroom has become background noise.
But knowing Watarai likes him is not the same as knowing he belongs.
When their class announces a new memory project and everyone has to form groups again, Asahi quietly leaves his name off the Four Heavenly Kings' form.
He thinks he is being considerate.
Hotta looks personally betrayed. Morisaki looks like he already understands the problem. Nakasato says something dry enough to hurt. And Watarai goes very, very still.
Because Asahi may be Watarai's boyfriend now, but that does not mean he has stopped feeling like the extra person in the group.

A little look into the life of our core 4 from THK as they enjoy a night out after Fadel & Bison's release from prison. Style has a bad interaction with an old hookup, but of course Fadel is there to keep him safe, leading to an interesting reaction. My first (slightly late) submission for Flufftober 2026, the title is based on the prompt.

"The man raised his gun, pointed straight at Fadel. Time froze for a moment as Bison watched in horror. And then he pulled the trigger.
“FADEL,” Bison let out a ragged scream as the bullet hit his brother.
Bison watched in agony as his brother’s body hit the ground, blood already starting to pool around his chest. His chest heaved as tears spilled down his chest. He moved to run towards his brother’s body. The man then turned the gun on him but Bison didn’t care. He leaned over his brother’s body, shielding him. He put his head down and accepted his fate. And then the man pulled the trigger……and everything went dark."
Bison has a horrible nightmare and wakes up in the clutches of a panic attack. Kant helps him through it.
