And you? What about you? Mike wants to ask.
As if Will hears him, he says, “I don’t think I could live without you.”

Summary
Mike Wheeler has built his career as a defense attorney on finding reasonable doubt.
So when he takes the case of Joyce Byers, who’s accused of killing her husband, he’s convinced of proving she’s innocent. The evidence is thin, the prosecution is overconfident, and Mike knows how to win.
What he doesn’t know how to do is ignore Will Byers, who’s loyal to his mother, haunted by his father, and far too good at keeping secrets.
And falling for Will might be the most damning evidence of all.

Will rolls his eyes and looks away, the movement almost childish in its frustration, but Mike doesn’t take it personally. He understands that he’s angry, but they don’t have time for it now.

Summary
You know, Apollo had high hopes for 2028. He and Klavier were actually kind of friends now, there were no impending disasters for once, and things were looking up. And then, literally on the first day of the new year... this happens.
Some cosmic force somewhere has got to be laughing at him. Some cosmic force somewhere definitely has it out for him, that's for sure. But the joke's on them, whoever they are, because his name is Apollo Justice, he's fine, and he is not losing anyone else... even if Klavier has already confessed to the murder Apollo can't believe he committed. And why does Mr. Wright keep muttering about this entire scenario being so familiar?

Bookmarker's Notes
“Know him? Ha! I sure do. Didn’t know he had a kid, though, that there’s definitely new. Wonder what he’s up to these days?”
Edgeworth mutters something under his breath that might have been avoiding you, or might have been gay Pikachu...
-----
“Prosecutor Gavin, I am not so old that I do not know how to turn a phone on,” Edgeworth says sharply.
-----
“It sure was strange how Mr. Edgeworth kept glaring at a space directly above our heads, though, wasn’t it?” Apollo says, equally innocently. “Don’t suppose you’d know anything about that?”
-----
“I’ll never recover. Fine, so maybe I tried to catch Edgeworth’s eye a few times, and maybe when I did I tried to distract him, what about it? Since when has there been a law against that?”
“Oh my god.” Apollo smacks a hand against his forehead. “Can you maybe… not? I think I did pretty alright in there without you making eyes at the prosecution.”
“Excuse you, I was making faces, there is a very distinct difference—”
-----
"WHY WOULD YOU HAVE A BLOWTORCH IN A POLICE STATION?!?”
Moreau shrugs, his confidence apparently regained just as easily as it was lost. “Why wouldn’t you have a blowtorch in a police station?”
Edgeworth’s mouth actually falls open. “You cannot be serious. Please tell me you aren’t serious—”
“Oh, I’m quite serious, Mr. Edgeworth. Why not?”
“F-Fire safety?!? The fact that you clearly are not in possession of the basic common sense to use a blowtorch without setting something ablaze?!? Where did you even get a blowtorch from?!?”
“You can buy pretty much anything online these days, so… is that a rhetorical question, or…?”
-----
“Prosecutor Gavin, please put your phone away, you aren’t as subtle as you think you are with it,” the judge says. He waits until Klavier sighs but obliges before adding, “Thank you. Now, witness?”
