Summary
Harry's life is his work. And through years of working long, exhausting hours in child and family services, Harry's developed some guidelines for himself when it comes to taking children into his home. One, he'll only do it in emergency situations. And two, he won't take them long term.
While he has no official policy on his romantic relationships, they never seem to last very long either, no matter how much he might dream of finding love.
But when eleven-year-old Ben Healy comes blasting his way into Harry's world, his predictable, somewhat lonely life gets turned upside down. Harry can't help but draw parallels between himself and the Muggleborn orphan, and despite his best efforts, he grows attached. Summary
Harry Potter is hoping for a quiet year at Hogwarts, a time when he can finally sit back and finish his education in peace. When he discovers that the student body of Beauxbatons will be joining them and he meets their Head Boy, Harry starts to question some things about himself. And then there's the matter of Draco Malfoy.
Draco Malfoy is tired. He's tired of the reputation that haunts him, he's tired of his father's disappearance hanging over him dark and heavy, and he's tired of being eaten alive by guilt. He takes matters into his own hands in an effort to improve himself, and when Harry Potter catches his eye in a way Draco never expected, he finds himself with a reason to be better, to do better.
Meanwhile, Hogwarts seems to be attacking students, still unstable in the aftermath of the Dark Lord's defeat. Harry and Draco inexplicably find themselves drawn together again and again, old grudges rubbed raw until they're buffed into something hopeful and new.

Summary
Fleeing the aftermath of his recent divorce, Draco Malfoy takes up a post as the new Potions Master at Hogwarts. At first he believes his hopes for a fresh start are dashed when he sees that a certain boyhood rival is on staff there as well. But Harry Potter is being weirdly nice to him, leaving Draco no choice but to play along. As Draco reckons with his ex-wife's infidelity and questions about his own sexuality, he finds himself going to an openly gay Potter for guidance. As their friendship deepens, Draco realizes that there is quite a lot that Potter can teach him. And that he is surprisingly ready to learn.
