No strings attached, Phainon's lilting voice echoed through his head every time. And yet, Mydei had to stop himself from grabbing onto Phainon's hand as he got up. Found himself longing for the heat of Phainon's body outside of just sex.
With a sigh, he got up and pulled on his sweatpants. Maybe if Phainon didn't want to stay in bed with him, Mydei could join him on the balcony.

Mydei can feel his nails dig into his palm, blunt nails piercing his skin. “My father controls my relationships, it seems unnecessary.”
“Seems stressful, I’d say,” Hyacine's voice softens, “don’t you resent him?”
“After mother died, he’s been different,” Mydei impassively explains, “worried about issues of succession to his title and corporation, worried about preserving mother’s legacy. I can’t fault him for it as I loved my mother too.”
“Still this problem won’t go away, Mydei,” Hyacine implores with gentle insistence. She starts twirling her pen around, lost in thought. “What about a relationship that isn’t an omega?”
Mydei and Phainon start a relationship of convenience. What could go wrong?
