Slimes can’t die of old age. Avery can’t picture an eternity of this. The thought makes his chest feel tight, and he feels tears dripping down his cheeks as he tries to pretend he hadn’t even had it. Avery doesn’t want to be trapped here with Hastur until the end of time. Avery just hopes that the King gets tired of Avery. Then at least he’ll be free. Death... death would be more merciful than thousands of years of this.
“I cannot recall asking. You will worship me, my vessel. You will do it willingly, or I will make you.”
Avery’s tears fall as he shakily flips open the book.
“Page one. Begin from the top.”

Summary
007n7 and Twotime are considered to be the outcasts of the survivors in this FORSAKENED REALM that they are confined to.
The two eventually begin to bond with one another over this exclusion from the others, and find out they are more alike than they had originally expected. Upon talking to each other, they discover both of them are religious (or well, cultists). They decide to work together to aid each other whenever needed for the religious rituals and practices.
It may be painful to do, but they believe it is worth it for one another. They keep it hidden, and their bond continues to grow stronger - they don't need any of the other survivors, they have each other.
