A pitiful little groan from the bed made Sky’s eyes snapped up to see his new patient slowly waking up from his medically assisted nap. He was handsome, big soulful brown eyes set against soft, almost boyish features. His arm was in a sling to keep his movement to a minimum while his shoulder healed and the edges of a cotton bandage peeked out from under the collar of his baby blue hospital gown. The color against his dark hair and sun-kissed skin looked entirely too good considering he was injured in a hospital bed. His eyes were still glazed over with pain medication, making him look glassy-eyed and loopy. But then he smiled, a big, out of place sort of smile, like seeing Sky was the greatest gift he’d ever received.
“Wow, you’re pretty.”
