Summary
She doesn’t exactly know what family is supposed to feel like, but if it’s like this, then Annie could get used to it. She likes this feeling, this quiet warmth in her chest, the reassurance that she’s not going to be kicked out at the first misstep. Annie wants to get used to this, she wants this feeling to last.
The day continues, and Annie almost manages to forget that this, Mr. Stacks and her, is supposed to be a temporary arrangement until he becomes mayor. And the election is drawing ever closer. Annie doesn’t know what she’ll do after that; she doesn’t know if Mr. Stacks will still want to keep her after that.
