A Code Purple palestorm sends Precinct 41 home early and turns Harry Du Bois' already-impossible police instincts into an open channel across Jamrock.
Kim Kitsuragi thinks the man watching him in the violet dark is only a fantasy his storm-rattled mind invented. Harry knows better. He can see Kim. He can hear what Kim would never say aloud. And when the storm opens the channel both ways, thought becomes touch, distance becomes irrelevant, and neither man gets to finish alone.
