“Taste.”
Ash, never one to let her forget who was taller, easily leaned over and took a careful taste.
She paused as the flavors settled, her jaw working thoughtfully before her eyebrows lifted in genuine surprise. “That’s actually good.”
“Say it like you mean it,” Ewron insisted, nudging her backwards with her hip.
“It’s good, chef,” Ash replied, a soft smirk tugging at her lips. “Chef needs a smaller ego, though.”
“Chef needs a kiss, actually,” Ewron countered, turning smoothly within the circle of Ash’s arms until she was facing her fully.
OR,
Day 22 of Assassinduo Month 2026; “Cooking Together” (except it’s genderbent Ash and Ewron, because we’re in a yuri drought).

For a second those words made Ewron freeze. It was safe to assume he didn't expect anything of that kind. Telling him to fuck off and go away seemed more likely. Yet he was quick to respond, visibly curious.
"What do you want us to be?"

Summary
Literature has always been one of Ash’s favorite hobbies.
Of course, he hasn't had the chance to participate in the activity—whether reading or writing—for a long while now. Duty calls, afterall. The duties that come with ruling over a crumbling nation, but he digresses.
He's slowly making his way back into the field with journalism, though. A habit he formed during his kidnapping, you could say.
It's a nice form of self-expression, as Katie would put it.
The entries themselves are lackluster. Nothing that would make the front page of the island's newspaper or get an interesting headline. Just paragraphs detailing his family life—maybe his and Ewron's feud of the day. Miscellaneous things like that.
That's how they started, at least. Once he started delving into his feelings, it got rather… oh, he doesn't know—intimate?
Explicit might be a better term.
Or, Ash picks up a new journaling hobby.

Summary
He can only sit there, staring at Ewron as if the world is about to collapse around him and tear him apart. Is he shaking? He can’t quite tell.
Logically, Ash should feel angry. Hateful. That's what normal people feel whenever they come across their ex in public. Sure, there's a tight knot in his stomach, but he wouldn't call that hate.
There's a part of him that feels a hint of yearning woven in, too. Not that he’ll acknowledge it.
Ewron rises to his feet and flicks his eyes up and down his face like he’s waiting for Ash to say something.
He doesn't know if he can.
Or, Ash and Ewron make (and mend) their family, however strange their methods may be.
