The horizon has nearly finished swallowing the setting sun. Beautiful and captivating, just like them. Never lasting, always on a time crunch, the end looming ever present, unavoidable. The sun will set at night, and Hollander will leave. Ilya will hurt, Ilya will break, and the next day the cycle will start again, continuing down a path mapped out in a parking lot in Saskatchewan.
Ilya leaves the beach without joining Hollander, returning to a hotel room that stays single occupancy during the last night of the 2017 All Star Games.
Shane and Ilya spend another decade circling each other.
