Alastor, as the truly altruistic being that he was, had helped avert the crisis for a small fee. Two deals broken, a fully healed staff, and the electrical thorn in his side removed for the price of bettering his standing in the princess's eyes and appearing to have somewhat of a heart.
He could have gone without the latter.
With that little stunt of his, the power-hungry demon lord had freed himself from years-long shackles. Riding out that high, he had no qualms about getting his hands just a tad bit more dirty, especially if the opportunity arose in the form of a pathetic King. And who was he to decline such a thing?
So when he saw the imbecile of a so-called Ruler crawl out of the rubble, lose his footing, and soon disappear with a snap of his fingers, wounded and alone, Alastor knew this was a chance unlike any other.
Or
Lucifer needs and Executioner and Alastor is insane enough to try his luck.

The collar was supposed to be a joke. Lucifer even laughed when Alastor handed it to him. But then Alastor took off all his clothes, held up the leash, and gave a single order: "Crawl over here if you want it."
Lucifer should have said no. Instead, he got on his knees.
