Summary
"Sensei," he murmurs, and this time it's yearning. It's soft and it's adoring. He is so obviously infatuated, it's a wonder that Ittetsu hasn't reached for his hand or leaned in for a kiss or made his own feelings known in kind. But it's so new for Ukai, the man looks at him with such unabashed wonder and then darts away so quickly, like he's afraid he'll get caught. It's a recent development that Ittetsu almost can't believe and he wants to linger in it a bit longer.
Keishin calls him sensei, and Ittetsu collects every iteration.

Summary
Keishin flips over and groans into his pillow. He's spent a year writing off this feeling, like oh we're just colleagues and oh, he just coaches my volleyball team and oh, I just think he's cool and funny and clever and witty and has a really pretty smile and I'd like to be friends with him outside of work.
Oh. Oh. Oh. Of course.
There's no writing this off anymore. Keishin has a crush.
Ukai Keishin enters his second year of coaching and realizes a few things about himself.

Summary
A hot cashier at the convenience store. If Ittetsu were in a mass market romance, this could be the start of something very interesting.
"Beg me as many times as you want—" the hot cashier says.
Sure, Ittetsu thinks. That can be arranged.
"—I'm not gonna be their coach."
Oh. Right. The actual reason he's in this convenience store.
Takeda meets a man, and does not fall in love. Yet.

Summary
Yuusuke leaned over and gently pushed Makoto’s glasses up. For one breathless moment Makoto thought Yuusuke was going to kiss him, right there at the back of Shimada Mart, where anybody could theoretically see them, even if the only living creature in sight right then was Ryuugazaki-san’s mean cat. In the past, Makoto would already be pulling away, talking about everything and nothing, but right now he just waited, not moving, not sure if he wanted Yuusuke to kiss him or not. Not sure what he would do if Yuusuke did.
Yuusuke smiled and stepped back, shoving his hands into his hoodie. “I’ll see you later, hey?”
Makoto could breathe again, but his pulse was pounding, and he wanted to say something, tell Yuusuke… He wasn’t sure exactly what. Something. Instead he just nodded. “Yeah, later.”

Summary
Noya makes grabby hands in Asahi’s direction. “Nuh uh, no backing out now. You can’t talk yourself out of giving it to me right in front of me, Asahi, c’mon.”
Asahi relinquishes the box.
The ribbon is shiny and soft but Noya’s patience has never been a virtue of his; he yanks the ribbon off and flings the lid open. Inside, nestled in a soft bed of black fabric, is a shiny gold key. There’s a tag attached to it. Noya lifts it up.
The tag spells out Asahi’s full name in Asahi’s neat, blocky handwriting, and there's a little doodle of a house right next to it. Noya has to catch his breath. “Is this - are you giving me a key to your house?”
Noya meets Asahi's family, looks the future right in the eye, and totally for sure has this whole relationship thing down. Right? Right. No problem. (Another step towards a future trip to Egypt.)

Summary
Asahi has two big moments of difficult goodbyes back-to-back: leaving the clubroom for the last time, and telling Noya he's moving to Tokyo.
A memory mentioned in Lean In, but can be stand alone.

Summary
Noya admires forwardness, and confidence, and strength, and is also maybe the slightest bit dense. And if Asahi wants, he has to ask for it. And he wants. He really, really does.
Asahi stretches his arms. Breathes in and out once through the chest. Lets his impending graduation, his upcoming serious internship, his rocky and terrifying job opportunities, all of it, wash over him and feel absolutely terrifying and overwhelming and big, for a moment. Even with all of this, he wants. He’s certain Nishinoya Yuu is what makes this picture better.
And, God help him, he’s come to think that Noya feels the same.
The get-together precursor to going on a trip to Egypt. On pining, loving so so much, and making it work.
