Will chuckled. “I’m here as one of the Anti-Leo-Valdez guards,” he leaned on the counter to Nico’s left, “Although I seem to infuriate you more than he does.”
Glaring at him, Nico assessed his own emotions about the situation. Sure, Will pissed him off, but— “I would rather be smacked in the face by a pencil case than a massive fucking bag of flour.”
Will didn’t laugh that time, to his credit. But his face was taken over by a massive fucking grin, simultaniously amused and infuriatingly self satisfied.
”Good to know.”

Summary
Nico hadn’t believed it at first, when the SOLD sign was tacked onto the front lawn.
The house next door had been empty longer than he’d lived there. The front porch sagged in several places, and not a single square meter of the outside was consistently painted. As far as he could tell, it wasn’t a hazard, but he’d expected it to sit empty for at least a decade longer.
It set him on edge a bit. He’d gotten comfy on their street, knowing the sort of people who lined it. Whether they had their own open secrets or not, everyone was safe. Even the older couples a few houses down didn’t care. The idea of a new family is terrifying. A certain type of people move to towns like this, with their tiny population and community barbecues.

Nico and Drew have been 'married' for years, coasting under the radar of nosy small town america. When Rachel and Will buy the delapidated house next door, both couples live in fear of being caught out by the other. It's certainly not helpful that they're all absolutely obsessed with one of their neighbours.

He’s 17 years old, curled loosely at his boyfriends side, listening to him bicker with his siblings about something dumb, that he’s still too sleepy to follow. His hold on Will isn’t tight, because it doesn’t have to be. Neither of them are getting up yet, and he knows when they do, he’ll just follow them to breakfast.
Will isn’t leaving, and neither is Nico.

Dylan could admit when he was wrong. Gotten pretty good at it too. Though that didn’t mean he enjoyed it—the confession nor the deed itself. Despite the admission, he felt his current situation required some serious self-reflection...
To start, maybe not staying in the lodge was a bad idea, to say the least. Yes, Mr. H had warned them to stay inside. And yes, that warning flew over every single one of their empty, little heads (except maybe Ryan and Abi…), but it’s not like he was completely responsible for that! One: it was a group effort. Two: he really wanted to get drunk in the woods. And perhaps partying in the middle of nowhere—in the middle of the night—with a bunch of drunk 18–20-year-olds, miles away from any hospital, police station, or cellphone tower could be seen as… risky. During a full moon, nonetheless. But he could own that, especially seeing as it was his own suggestion that got them there in the first place.
He could not, however, be blamed for the fucking werewolves. Despite what his father might’ve claimed if he could see his sorry excuse for a son now.

My reimagining of The Quarry but set in a universe where werewolves and hunters aren't that uncommon. For Dylan, at least.
