Summary
Grace had been living on Erid for 2 years now, he was held as family, teaching and researching alongside his best friend, Rocky. Space could not take any more time from them here.
But, it had already took what it pleased. It left him with no memory of his family and friends that had once been his world. He couldn't even bring himself to remember his own brother's faces. Grace was forever cursed to the fate of not knowing.
Though, with the sudden appearance of blood stained metal cylinder carrying a lifeless Simon, Grace slowly starts to piece these strings together. But, what does this mean for him? Maybe not remembering was his unconscious way of protecting himself from the pain that came with remembering who he was. -

The warmth of Andrew’s hand ignited something inside of Neil. He felt secure, he felt like Andrew’s. His hands trailed up Neil's stomach, up to his ribs. Neil froze. Andrew hadn’t touched Neil like this, ever. He didn’t even know he had reacted until the steady kissing suddenly felt different, flashes of panic ran through Neil's foggy brain.

The students knew him as the new metals teacher with one arm who could somehow demonstrate every project better than they could. The faculty knew him as competent, punctual, and impossible to read. Summary
“Will arrive at Erid in three months. Rocky get smartest Eridians to make food for human grace and help alien wake up.” Rocky says with a little more hope and incline in his voice, causing the edge of my lips to curl upwards slightly.
Rocky always does his best to say what he thinks I need to hear, and, for the most part, he isn't too far from the mark.
“Yeah…Everything will be okay” I respond, and hope that it's true.

Grace and Rocky have made it through a bulk of their trip to Erid. In their travels, the two discover a man in the middle of dead space- tethered to nothing, with no oxygen tank and yet alive all the same.
Simon has been in a coma on the Hail Mary for three months now, and Grace is trying to stay sane.
