Summary
In the years since Veritas Ratio fled from The Sweet Dream, he has had only one goal in mind: to bring Aventurine back to life. The early summer sun poured down on him through the broad windows of his office, and perhaps a man less dogmatically honest would have blamed the warm weather on the hazy state of his mind, but Dr Ratio did not make a habit of lying to himself. Because no prior knowledge of Aventurine’s reputation could have prepared him just how shockingly beautiful the man was, nor the fact that he was inarguably insane.

Shane turns and looks at him in disbelief, smacking him across his chest. Clearly Shane still has hockey strength intact, not that he never stopped working out in hopes that the doctors could give a different outcome; that Joaquin feels the wind knocked out of him.
“Are you fucking serious?” Shane snapped
Joaquin winces, not able to give a straight answer as he’s trying to regain his bearings. “Yeah, don’t hit me again, man.” “He needs people– he asked if I was coming and if I knew anyone who wanted to make fast money. I immediately thought of you.” His explanation was lackluster in Shane’s eyes but he understood the sentiment where the gesture was coming from.
“I don’t need pity Joaquin.”
“You need money.”
Shane couldn't argue that.
