Summary
In all of Baelor's life, he was considered a perfect heir to the throne by many people: noble lords and smallfolk alike. Thus, he knew the risk of being the heir, and this posed a danger to his life. He was not afraid of death nor dying—that was the burden of being the crown prince—but the situation in front of him was nothing like what he had imagined. The idea that his brother now dying was not something he was prepared for.
With all the things that involved suffering and pain he had endured in the past, Baelor realized that this was the most agonizing loss he had ever felt. An unimaginable grief that he was afraid that this madness would do to him things that are unforgivable. Even to himself.
But he must rule. He must rule and look steadfast in front of the people.
Yet how would he rule and face the inevitability without someone that he could trust and lean on. How would he rule when he’s all by himself?
Alone.
