Summary
Steve Harrington has one last task before he can officially call himself a fraternity brother. stop Jonathan Byers, the student newspaper’s most stubborn reporter, from publishing an exposé on his frat’s hazing traditions.
It should be easy.
Jonathan is just one guy with a camera, a notebook, and an irritating inability to be charmed, bribed, threatened, or reasoned with. Steve only has to get him to drop the story. Jonathan only has to survive Steve Harrington showing up everywhere he goes trying to make that happen.
Neither of them expects Jonathan to eventually need something from Steve.
So they strike a deal, Steve helps Jonathan out of a problem he can't solve on his own, Jonathan backs off the hazing story, and whatever they have to pretend to be in the meantime is strictly part of the arrangement.
It should solve everything.
Instead, Steve's initiation is getting closer, Jonathan keeps asking questions that don’t go anywhere and somewhere between trying to use each other and trying to figure each other out, they both lose track of which parts they're still pretending.

Summary
Jonathan Byers knows he's a stalker.
He knows normal people don't spend football practice hiding behind bleachers with a camera.
Normal people don't have a shoebox under their bed filled with one hundred and thirty-seven photographs of Steve Harrington.
Normal people don't know what Steve looks like when he's tired, or lonely, or pretending to laugh at Tommy Hagan's jokes.
Jonathan knows exactly what he is.
The problem is that Steve Harrington seems to know an awful lot about Jonathan too.

Summary
When Jonathan Byers goes missing, Hawkins turns fear into rumors and grief into gossip. Steve Harrington is trying not to be the kind of person who feeds it. He’s also trying to get Nancy Wheeler to look at him like he’s changed.
So when Nancy mentions Jonathan, Steve makes a choice he can’t take back: he tells her they were friends.
It should’ve been a harmless lie—something vague, something that would fade the moment Jonathan came home. But Joyce Byers finds a stack of photographs Jonathan took of Steve, and suddenly the lie stops being a crush-driven flex and turns into a lifeline Joyce clings to with both hands. With Robin Buckley helping Steve keep his story straight and Nancy pulling them into a frantic investigation, the three of them become an unlikely detective team chasing leads the police ignore.
The deeper Steve digs, the less he cares about impressing Nancy… and the more he can’t stop thinking about Jonathan—about the boy behind the camera, the quiet moments Steve never noticed, and the dangerous person Jonathan might be hiding from.
A Stonathan fic inspired by Dear Evan Hansen.

Summary
“Why the sudden interest anyway, Harrington?” Jonathan continued, pacing in front of the swings. His voice was getting louder. His hands were beginning to move as he spoke. He was being entirely too defensive. “Why do you all of a sudden notice or even care about how I’m acting?” he turned, a bitter and uncomfortably diluted look on his face, “I mean, it’s not like we’re friends.”
Although entirely true, the words didn’t settle well in Steve’s stomach.
“Damn it,” he muttered, shaking his head, “I know, okay?” he inhaled deeply and then pinched the bridge of his nose, “I know that we aren’t friends and I know that I’m partially to blame for that but I’m trying here, man.” He leveled Jonathan with a serious look, “You have people worried about you, Byers. I’m not above admitting that I’m one of them.”

After Joyce loses her job due to her mental illness, Jonathan has to step up and work harder than ever to provide for his family. The bruises from his new job causes alarm from everyone, including the one person in the world who he never really expected it from.

Summary
“You know what’s funny about this?” Robin says, a smirk on her face that Steve doesn’t trust on principle.
“Nothing?” Steve suggests.
“You and Jonathan have, like, the complete opposite taste in music.”
Steve sighs, long and suffering. “Yeah, Robin. I’m aware of that.”
Or: modern AU where Steve and Jonathan are exes who still share the same Spotify account that they use to purposefully annoy each other as opposed to talking about their problems.

Summary
Steve Harrington had been handed the world on a silver platter. By twenty-two, he'd sold millions of records and was headlining the Indianapolis Summer Music Festival.
By the same age, Jonathan Byers had just graduated from Indiana State, broke, in debt, still living at home, working two jobs on top of his photography assignments for the Indianapolis Star; and he had only requested working the main stage because it meant his girlfriend, Nancy Wheeler, would get to see Steve Harrington live.
Whatever made her happy. It wasn't like he had to like the guy.
