Summary
Stealing was a necessity, at first. His father had made a few bad business decisions that Anthony discovered when Edmund Bridgerton died and left the estate in shambles. One of his less savory acquaintances had suggested a few jobs to help his family get through. But it didn't take long for Anthony to strike out on his own, and he was good at it. Good enough that his family didn't have to know they were penniless, because Anthony kept up their standard of living.
Kate's reasons had been startlingly similar. Her father suddenly gone, a mother and sister to care for. But she also had a taste for it — a hunger, a passion.
They tried to rob the same vault on the same night, half the guards drugged by him and the other half distracted by her, and the moment he saw her, he was lost.
