Summary
The plot to free the king is afoot and a certain ledger they need is rumoured to be in the grandest palace in all of Prague. Hans and Henry get tasked with retrieving it, disguised as two of the invited nobles.
Hans' noble has a scandalous reputation to uphold and Henry couldn't possibly be faulted for getting terribly distracted by it.
But something strange keeps happening when the clock strikes midnight and it's up to Henry to figure out what.
And use it to its fullest.

Summary
It should have been so simple: Hans and Henry spending some time together away from the Devil's Den - another shot at trying to relive the good old days after their hunting trip hadn't turned out all that well. But what Hans couldn't have anticipated is that they end up in a village in the middle of a fair, where they meet a woman who's instantly smitten with Henry, throwing herself at him any chance she gets. Or how Henry brings up Jitka not only once but twice, which is the last thing Hans needs. This, combined with his own pathetic pining would be enough to turn everything into a living nightmare. If it wasn't for the fact that maybe, just maybe, Henry isn't as unattainable as Hans previously thought.

"I vaguely remember you sitting in the corner last night, eyes in the cup."
God, strike him down this instant. Hans was ready for judgment day.
"Yes." He responded dryly.
"You looked…I don't know..."
"Pathetic?"
"Troubled. With…emotions. Pained with misery."
Hans huffed.
"Oh, you're a poet now?"
Henry chuckled, shaking his head.
"That was hardly poetic. Wait." He looked at Hans as if a thought had appeared in his head. "Is it of an amorous nature?"
Hans did his best confused frown. He should become an actor at this point.
"Of what nature?"
"Oh, so it is!"
Maybe not an actor, then.
----Hans Capon is jealous, miserable, and hopelessly in love, and Henry makes him talk about it, not knowing he's the person to blame for all the trouble.
A collection of character studies, relationship dynamics and idiots in love, following Hans and Henry through their relationship, seen through different POVs as they both realize what's worth living for.

“I’ll bring it next time. I’ll read it to you and translate. It’s hinted at throughout their whole story that he and Galehaut loved each other. So I thought about the idea a lot while I was reading it. Of two men together,” Hans turned on his side to face Henry. “Hal, the way their love is described… It was pure devotion and loyalty. I honestly couldn’t find anything wrong with it.”
Transfixed, Henry turned to face him as well. He tried to process that information but he had barely started to wrap his mind around it that Hans was talking again.
“And Henry, honestly, you are the kindest, purest, and most caring soul I have ever met. It’s almost infuriating how kind you are. If this is your preference, there is no possible way that it can be wrong or a sin. I believe in you a lot more than a preaching Lord.”
