Summary
Here on the surface, Mari is the only home that Lara has ever wanted to return to. Her lips graze against Mari’s skin. The shell of her ear. Her jaw. The nape of her neck. Like thunder trails lightning, so do her tears.
Mari blushes and grumbles. Laughs at how much it tickles. Falters a bit in her step when Lara pecks her lips in the flurry of kisses, though the shock isn’t enough to drop her.
The first thing that Mari says with her face all red is this: “That’s not fair. I'm carrying you right now so I can’t do anything. My hands are tied here.”

Summary
If Lara's feelings could summon the powers of Mother Nature, they surely would have sent a gust of wind sweeping leaves and flowers into the storage room in a whirlwind strong enough to shove the massive door against its frame with a violent bang that made the whole structure creak, shook the ceiling beams, and sent the ceiling lights swaying. Such a beautiful metaphor would have been a waste not to make real.
— What was that soun—
Mari was not easily startled, but anyone would have been surprised by a noise exploding behind them. When she realized it was the door, a bad feeling washed over her. She turned and hurried to the entrance.
One push. Two pushes. The door still would not budge.
— You've got to be kidding me… — On the third try, she threw her body against the wood. — Why couldn't they have put in a normal door?!
Maybe now Mari cared about that centuries-old latch.
OR: Lara and Mari end up trapped in the school storage room with all the time in the world to get to know each other.
