Summary
"Player recognized. Welcome to the Culling Games."
Your eyes snapped open to a world you did not recognize. Large stone towers with bright, flat lanterns loomed over you. No, not stone—concrete. Apartment buildings. Offices. These were not lights, but billboards. The modern terms surfaced somehow, they echoed from memories that weren't yours.
You've awakened in a different body, in a different time. And though your past has been stripped away, fragments rise to the surface, reminding you that you were never meant to be here. Now, in the middle of the Culling Games, you're stuck with more questions than answers and no breaks to find them.
Who were you?
To whom belongs the aching void in your memories?
And how did you awaken in modern-day Japan… after your brutal execution a thousand years ago?tl;dr: You wake in modern day Japan with fractured memories of love and home from the Heian era. Why is the hole in your past shaped exactly like him, while he doesn't recognize you at all?

Bucky Barnes x Telepathic Reader
All you wanted was simplicity. You had moved to Washington, DC for a better start - to get away from what you were, to get away from what you were expected to be. You never thought you’d meet the Captain America in a bar just three days after moving. You never thought there would be a dangerous person in your apartment just hours after meeting him.
Beginning with the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Hydra sends its most deadly weapon after a powerful telepath untested in the range of her abilities. Intrigued by the broken pieces of his mind, the two of you make an agreement: he helps you hide from Hydra, and you repair and salvage what’s left of his memories.
(Rating changed to Mature for violence, and some sexual themes in later chapters)

Summary
"Steve Rogers went into the ice a grieving man, tasting Bucky’s name on his lips and Peggy’s sorrow in his ears.
He emerged a blank slate."
Steve Rogers wakes up in a world full of aliens, men of iron, and a past complicated by the heroism of a man he no longer remembers being. He has no interest remembering the pain that drove him into the ice without the parachute that might have saved him. No desire to know about the best friend he lost or the woman who moved on without him.
He has more important things to consider...like killing the Winter Soldier.

❝ you've heard his reputation and you've seen first-hand the way he's late to class if he even bothers to show up. paired with him for the most important project of the year, you choose to give him the benefit of the doubt- but maybe that's more than he deserves when your perfect grades depend on him, or maybe there's more to the aloof and irritable sukuna than meets the eye. ❞
cw ; reader is fairly preppy and implied to be smaller than sukuna, but he's 6"11.
