Summary
After retiring early from his career as a blood spatter analyst, Dexter Morgan trades crime scenes for quiet days behind a keyboard to pursue a new life as a crime fiction writer. Seeking inspiration, he decides to base his debut novel on the most elusive and sensational serial killer case from his time with the police.
But what if his biggest fan is actually a centuries-old vampire?

Summary
“Dexter’s gone, Rudy!” Rita cried, a fresh wave of tears breaking through her words. “I—I'm sorry for calling you but I’ve been calling everyone! Dexter, he—he went to bed last night, and when I woke up at midnight, his bags were gone. His passport was gone. The hotel front desk said he checked out and took a taxi to the airport. I’ve been calling his phone all night, but it goes straight to voicemail. I called his office, but they haven't seen him! I'm so scared, Rudy. Did something happen to him? Did he... did he have some kind of panic attack about the baby? Is he okay? Is he with you? God, I hope he's with you.”
Or, after Dexter marries Rita, Brian resigns himself to being the outsider in his brother's carefully constructed life. Drunk, lonely, and desperate, he makes a single wish upon a mysterious item: for Dexter to love him as deeply as Brian has always loved him.

Summary
The bond wailed in protest, the ache of separation sharp and sickening, a gaping hole where Dexter was supposed to be. Brian clawed at his own chest, gasping, trembling, curling in on himself as the pain hit him like a sledgehammer.
Or, Brian Moser has always known he was different since he presented early as an Alpha. Forced to grow up too soon after a traumatic childhood, he became fiercely protective of Dexter, the only person who ever mattered to him. Until fate separated the two of them and Dexter forgot about him, but always questioning the same thing—why is there a mark on his neck when he never bonded with anyone before?
