Summary
Hades despises them. Calls them broken husks, cumbersome things that wage wars and gratuitously slay their kin out of greed, jealousy or a million other reasons he can list right off the bat, like a speech prepared and rehearsed. Yet Hythlodaeus… Hythlodaeus sees beauty. Beauty in their ways to express themselves through garb and hair, song and dance, trade and favors. They steal, and they kill, and they hate.
But are they truly so different?
--
In which Hythlodaeus doesn't sacrifice himself, survives the Sundering alongside the other three Ancients and stays in the Rift most of his time, unable to keep up with the Convocation's duties, finding himself useless in the end.
