Summary
It was nice, seeing how Gustave cared so deeply for her. From what memories he has, he got the sense that the other Verso would've really liked him. He would've thought he was a very caring brother and would've deeply appreciated the care and love for his sister that Gustave had.
It was painful, knowing that it wouldn't be long before Alicia would remember Verso (her Verso), and his death. She'd remember that this wasn't her life. That Gustave was painted.

Verso has a second to register it before he realizes he’s being cornered by three, very serious children. Gustave’s apprentices, to be more precise. Not the threat he first would’ve thought of, but there you go.
”What are your intentions towards Gustave?”
In which the apprentices have had enough of Verso & Gustave’s pining and confront Verso. They might also recruit some help while they're at it, and Verso suffers.

Verso might be the answer to all his problems or the one that will destroy his life.
