É quando ela conhece Natsu Dragneel e seu gato Azul, Happy, que sua vida realmente muda. Com suas piadas bobas e lealdade irrefutável pela sua família, Natsu é uma incógnita para Lucy. Nos momentos mais inesperados — e necessários, é quando ele mostra como é lutar por quem ama. Lucy admira Natsu ao mesmo tempo que acha ele um idiota. E ela adora isso (mesmo que não vá admitir).
Ao viver as aventuras que sempre sonhou, Lucy se depara com babacas irreparáveis, egos enormes e uma grande lista de pessoas que deveriam ir ao psicólogo. Lucy só espera que não esteja no topo da lista.
