At the side of the street, Yujin spots a group of raucous drunks, jovially giggling and leaning against each other while walking. He knows that Hao is staring at them as well.
“We should do that for your birthday once you can drink,” Hao says, a slight smile carved into his face and eyes upturned into crescents. “It’ll be a nice memory with everyone.”
Before we have to disband, the words go unsaid.

Ushijima knows that (1) obviously, manufactured wings like the ones described in the story would never work and (2) in the troposphere, altitude and temperature are inversely related, meaning that the higher one goes, the colder it gets because of the density of air particles decreases as altitude increases, so, really Icarus would have died from the lack of oxygen before he was able to get close enough for the Sun to melt away his wings. Eita says that Ushijima is dumber than a pile of rocks because clearly that isn’t the point of the story.
What Ushijima doesn’t know is what role Hinata Shouyou fills: is he Icarus, or is he the Sun?
He supposes it doesn’t matter— even the Sun must obey the laws of gravity.
or: Hinata Shouyou doesn't know how to doubt himself. He believes he can fly, and so he does.

Yoo Joonghyuk marched up to the edge of the rooftop, and Kim Dokja whirled around when his footsteps reached his ears. He opened his mouth to say something but Yoo Joonghyuk cut him off by firmly clamping his forearm, his hand easily encircling the entire circumference of his pale wrist.
His eyes were wide, devoid of any light.
Yoo Joonghyuk’s steady, deep breathing became even more prominent in this heavy silence. His palm pulsated against the slender wrist in his grasp.
He watched Kim Dokja’s eyes alternate between his arm and Yoo Joonghyuk, the surprise delineated by his raised eyebrows.
“Get down from there.”
Upon transferring to a new high school, Yoo Joonghyuk somehow befriended the quiet boy who sat in the back of the classroom.
