    Summary

“Don’t be too hard on him,” Edmund starts. “You’d’ve done the same thing for any of us.”

“It’s different,” Peter says, and regrets it at once. The best and only way to avoid losing an argument with Edmund (if, indeed, an argument is what this is—Peter’s not quite sure yet) is not to talk at all.

Bluntly, his brother says, “You should tell him.”

And all at once, Peter’s tired. Lion’s mane, he’s so tired. He’s weary right down to his bones. “Tell him what, Edmund?”

(or, five times someone noticed peter’s feelings for caspian, and one time caspian noticed his own.)

It has been almost five years since the Pevensies were thrown out of Narnia, since they fell out of the wardrobe in the spare room.

They cope (or don’t) in their own ways.

    Summary

Susan sits on her own on the train back, looks in the window and sees the reflections of her siblings across the aisle. She wonders if they'd forgive her for it: for letting their home lie in the past, for burying the little that remains to her, for no longer clinging to every tiny fragment of fable to try and piece together how she was once Gentle, how she was once a Queen.

Susan struggles. Susan forgets. Susan moves on. Susan remembers.

Rushed to bookmark this so fast that tears are still running down my face. So sad and beautiful and raw and real, and does such justice to Susan.

    Summary

In some ways it starts with swords in a forest, metal on metal and instincts acting up before anyone can realize what’s actually happening. In others, it starts with a tree opening up to nowhere, and people disappearing into mid-air, and the unshakable knowledge that even the loveliest things come to an end. But mostly, it starts with a realization that will never stop haunting Caspian the Tenth, king of Narnia: someone always has to leave, and someone always has to stay. And no matter how hard he tries, he’s always the one doing the staying.
(or, a story about leaving, and living. and maybe a little bit about loving. after all, aren’t they the same?)

Tears and more tears. What a fucking gorgeous, devastating and healing experience, and a solidified book in my Caspeter bible. Lady Tiare is delightful, and is now a canon character in my mind.
