Summary
One of those things that wouldn't get out of my head until I wrote it down. Not part of any fandom - just an original work that I felt like sharing. A good friend of mine lost her mom yesterday and combined with my own grief at losing mine this happened.

Summary
At an early age, shifters are told stories of true love, true mates, and how to properly consummate a mating in the eyes of Artemis.
Before Artemis and any other god and goddess shifters believe in, Alec and his pack will enter Idris' annual mating arena. Clary and Jace want to be properly mated while Simon and Izzy want to try finding their own mates. Alec? Well, being their Pack Alpha, Alec’s decided to go in as well. Alec's more worried about keeping his pack safe than finding his mate, but Artemis has other plans for him in the form of a feral hellhound.

Summary
They say the hardest heartbreaks aren’t those that come suddenly but rather those who creep unsuspectingly until every sharp stab crumbles to dust.
He wasn’t completely sure when it had happened. Maybe it begun when Alexander’s first wrinkle appeared or a grey hair was there amongst the dark, a taunting reminder of the harsh realities of mortality.

Summary
A hand went to his muzzle, deft fingers digging under the firm leather, and it was yanked free.
A shower of tulip petals burst from the mask, raining down to the pavement in a cascade of red satin. The Soldier was unperturbed. The tulips were his life, one of his only constants. He knew the tulips better than he knew most anything else. His ever-present companions.
But the look of horror on the golden man’s face spoke untold stories, deep secrets that the Soldier had heard whispers of in his head only when he was the most alone.
