“So, uh, lilies aren’t in bloom in January.” Harry says, scratching the back of his neck and feeling incredibly awkward. He’s never spoken to their grave–never spoken to them at all, really, aside from the few stolen moments from the resurrection stone. Even when he got to see them in the Mirror of Erised, he mostly just stared at them for hours. He doesn’t know how to talk to them.

It is twelve minutes after midnight, making the date October 31st. Halloween.
Harry has a complicated relationship with the holiday. It’s the anniversary of his parents’ death, so he’ll never be able to fully enjoy the festivities the way everyone else does. October 31, 1981 scarred him in more ways than just the lightning bolt scar on his forehead. In many ways, the events that occurred in this very house shaped his entire childhood; they're still shaping him now, as an adult frozen on the doorstep.

“Do you really want me raising your grandson?” He asks, needing to know. He can’t imagine that she feels that way, not when it’s his fault that the war carried on for so long. It’s his fault that she lost almost her entire family.
She studies him for a long minute, Harry forcing himself to meet her eyes despite wanting to flinch away. He’s not sure what she finds in his expression, but it seems to clear something up for her. He has the sudden worry that she could be a legilimens–he’s so tired of people invading his privacy by reading his mind, but she disproves that thought before it can fully form.
“I don’t know you well enough to tell.” She says, her voice even. Harry can respect her honesty, sinking back into the couch. After so long spent camping the softness of it is foreign to him. “However, it is not my opinion that matters most in this situation. My daughter and son-in-law are Teddy’s parents, and they chose you for a reason. We must honor that.”

Summary
Barty Crouch Jr. never expected to find out that his best friend was holding some important secrets from him--namely that he was an unregistered animagus, one that Barty has adopted as his own pet. This proves to be important when Barty uses his cat as a confidant, only for him to be telling Regulus himself about his feelings for him.
Lucky for him, Regulus has proven that he can be bold, despite being the most stubborn person Barty has ever met. Adopting a stray black cat might prove to be the best decision he ever made.

“I do,” he mumbled, and Will laughed. “It’s not funny! I’m blind.”
“Of course. It’s not funny.” Will paused. “What do they look like?”
Mike groaned. “None of your business.” He flopped backward onto his bed and stared at the ceiling as they talked. “Hot,” he added after a second.
“We’ll see about that,” Will said, and Mike scowled.
“I’m scowling,” Mike told him.
“I’m sure you are.”

Mike Wheeler gets glasses. Will Byers thinks they're the cutest thing in the world, unfortunately. Mike thinks Will thinking he's cute is... well, it makes him feel some sort of way, but he doesn't know what.
(They're 19 and in college but it's not really college centric. All canon happened EXCEPT Mike's epilogue predictions, because I don't really vibe with seeing them as anything beyond an idea in his head. He can tell by her tone she means business, so he obeys, turning the volume way up so that the bass reverberates through the car. And then, to his utter surprise, Natalie begins to sing loud and off-key, her face pinched in pain.
Richie blinks at her. "You know all the words?"
