Summary
The couple seconds of absolute terror Neptune had felt when his moons all gathered in front of him, and he'd counted only fifteen.
Oh cosmos, the planet was sure his heart had actually stopped at that moment.
He'd counted once more. Twice. A third time, more panicked each time. And yet, the number stayed fifteen. His moons had panicked too, shifting and moving so much it was nearly impossible to get them to stay still long enough for a roll call.
Triton, Nereid, Proteus-
Proteus.
He was missing Proteus.
He'd almost lost it.
It was a good thing X noticed him though- the relief, even if short-lived, had been enough to hold his anger against the larger planet back. At least for a little bit.
Oh, his brave little star.

Summary
His wings twitched. Uranus let out a soft, sharp breath, forcing them to curl back.
"Uranus?" The miserable tears came to a pause at the sound of his name- though the ice giant didn't even look up.He didn't need to anyway.
Not with Neptune.
He was forced to open his eyes when he felt the shift- looking his cousin right in the eye, the smaller ice giant having adjusted himself. For once, he wasn't smiling, face softened by what seemed to be worry. But thankfully, not pity. Neptune never did that to him.
Still. His cousin being here was awfully convenient. He raised an eyebrow.
Neptune grinned back, even if his smile was toned down. "Your moons brought me!" He said, as if that explained everything. Which it didn’t. Stars, his moons weren't even- just how out of it was he?
He attempted to shift to get a better look- but it only caused the pain to flare. Neptune winced sympathetically, but didn't comment, much to his relief.
He didn't ask. And Uranus didn't need him to.
