Summary
Kaveh grew up healthy and happy with parents who loved him, who strived to give him everything they possibly could. The Interdarshan Championship rolled around a few months before Kaveh’s 8th birthday and he begged his father to go. He was apprehensive at first but seeing the sparkle in his son’s eyes, he gave in and started writing a letter of correspondence to the Akademiya.
Kaveh and his mother saw him off at the Akademiya, the blond covering his eyes as his parents share a sweet kiss. He watches his father join a small group of Rtawahist scholars, the blue of their darshan badges reflecting the early morning sunlight. Kaveh’s chest aches but brushes it off, he’ll miss his father but they will see each other soon.
It is no one's fault but Kaveh’s that his father was buried in the sands of Hadramaveth, never to be seen again.
Or;
Kaveh, with his unquantifiable guilt, falling out, and falling back in. -

"Archons, that hurt. What did I tell you about leaving your books all over the... place?" Kaveh peers down at the offending item, only to find a dusty box with a well-loved Christmas tree lying there instead.
"Since when did we own a Christmas tree?"
"Since a week ago." Kaveh whips around to face him, eyebrows furrowing. Alhaitham sighs.
It's the two of them and their little family crafted lovingly over the years, after every argument, every season, every government-collapsing coup; always and forever.

"I swear, Alhaitham, it better not be another Aranara statue. That thing is ugly and you know it.” He sighs, running a hand through his hair. “Honestly, why do you insist on upsetting me?"
"Just wait. I think you'll like it."
"You said that about the Aranara statue."
"It's not another statue, I promise." Alhaitham chuckles.

“My apologies, but my husband will kill me if I die right now.” In the blink of an eye, Tadashi twists around and lands a swift kick, wincing at the loud crack that follows. He slumps over on the ground at Tadashi’s feet, eyes rolled into the back of his head. Tadashi takes a step back and hisses, hands clutching his side. His eyes water and sucking in a breath seems near impossible.
His phone pings again and Tadashi grunts, slowly pulling it out of his pocket. Of course, it’s Kei.

coming home now!!He tries his hardest to type out a normal response, he wouldn’t want Kei to worry. He peeks at the worn handle sticking out of his abdomen and winces. He wouldn’t want Kei to worry prematurely.

Summary
“Make sure you remember an umbrella today, senior. I’m not taking care of you if you get sick.”
“Wait, what? Is it supposed to rain today?” His tone edges on distress. Alhaitham shifts to face Kaveh again, eyebrows furrowed.
“Yes. It’s been forecasted for the past week. You weren’t aware?”
“Obviously not.” Kaveh hisses. He slams his mug down on the counter, the liquid splashing onto the bench. “Mehrak!”
