Summary
In an alternate Remnant where the shattered moon birthed hidden animal and creature gods-such as Fenrir, the God of Wolves-the Arc Clan reigns at the apex of the Lycan bloodlines. Every 200 years, Fenrir chooses a Champion to receive ultimate divine power, a title historically held by the Arcs.
Jaune Arc is born sickly and unable to fully "Shift" into a Lycan, leaving him with only sharp teeth, claws, and ash-grey wolf ears that make him pass for a Faunus. Viewed as a disappointment by his parents and brutally mocked by his fierce older sister Mordred (who craves the Champion title), Jaune is denied permission to train as a Huntsman to keep him safe.
Refusing to rot in isolation, Jaune steals the ancestral weapon Crocea Mors and fake transcripts, boarding a Bullhead to Beacon Academy. His defiance earns the respect of Fenrir himself, who secretly marks Jaune as his divine Champion.

A gene that transforms those it activates in. Makes them think a different way from humans. Not evil, not violent, just... different. Practical in different ways. Cunning in different ways.
Gives them abilities unnatural and unexplainable by even modern science. Makes them need a food source previously unneeded.
It is only natural they are feared, and that fear leads to hatred.
But hatred blocks off any path to reconciliation. And deals left to be made. And the hated must survive on their own.
Yet a salvation comes from the last place they expected - from the power of their hunter.
