Summary
It’s not been thirty-six years, but it’s not been fewer than thirty. And Rhett’s been so careful. But somewhere along the line – he had girlfriends, got married, had kids – he’d lost the urgency to pretend, the need to hide.

Summary
Shane cups her cheek in his hand, running his thumb over the plush of her bottom lip. She looks at him through her fawnish lashes. He roves his eyes over her body. Her shoulders and biceps, her abs… She's so strong, so…
Incredible.
"I've never done that before," he admits, "Not with... with a woman, at least."
"Right, well," she rolls her eyes, "Would probably be better with a real man, yes?"
He shakes his head, "No. It wouldn't have been the same at all."

Summary
The Voyageurs have been on a losing streak almost as long as they haven't had a mascot.
Now that they have a new star center, and things are starting to turn around, they see a chance for investment in a brand new mer: except this one isn't a beautiful mermaid, something weak and soft, but instead a symbol of power, dominance, strength. They go with a shark-type mer, something that represents their rise back to hockey superiority.
Shane Hollander doesn't expect this to have anything to do with him, right up until he realizes that the mer can talk and does not in fact want to be the beloved face of this ancient franchise, and pretty soon, his movie-star/activist best friend has him pulling a heist that threatens not only his hockey career, but the entire social structure of North America.
