Summary
From this distance she can’t see Rafayel. It’s an uneasy feeling, having him out of sight, lost somewhere between the waves crashing rhythmically against the sand. She knows he’s safe, wherever in the deep, dark water he is, safer than he is on land, the man himself being the sea’s most dangerous creation once he lets the tide engulf him. Still, it’s an uneasy feeling; him being so close, yet out of reach as she’s waiting anxiously on the beach, on the verge of two worlds - the one they share and the one she’ll never fully be a part of.
