He'd thought nothing of acquiring the pair of earrings; Paul had seen them in the markets outside of the palace and thought, instantly, of Feyd-Rautha. The aquamarines were the same exact shade as his eyes. Trillion cut, brilliant in the light, with gold studs. Feyd-Rautha's ears were pierced. He wore earrings rarely, but Paul thought that they'd become him if he deigned to wear them, and so he'd purchased the pair and thanked the merchant when she tucked them into a small wooden box lined with white velvet.
Now, though, Paul stared at the box on the bed and thought, Perhaps he won't like them.
