    “Hey Mads, sorry to disturb you on your break but we have a very upset toddler on the phone asking for his Aunt Maddie.”

    Her stomach drops, her heart jumps into her throat.

    “Theo?” She asks weakly, standing from her seating.

    “Theo.” Josh repeats back. His calmness reassures her slightly, but she still feels sick at the thought of her nephew calling 911.

    They leave the break room and head over to Ruben’s desk — he was lucky enough to get Theo’s call. He looks at Maddie with soft eyes before handing over the headset.

    “Hi Theo, it’s Aunt Maddie,” she says softly, hearing a sniffle then a sob.

    “Daddy Buck told me to call 911 and ask for Aunt Maddie if there was an anmergancy.” Theo mumbles wetly. Maddie feels her heart clench.

    “Clever boy for listening to Daddy Buck, but what is the emergency honey? Are you hurt?”

    “Mr Socks is missing!” Theo cries down the phone, his sobs growing louder.
