Summary
Erik, a high-profile lawyer with a successful career, meets a 21-year-old grad student in a bar, and within a few short months marries him. He and Charles are blissfully happy, until Erik's boss runs a background check on Charles and discovers he's been cheating on Erik. Miranda studied the tie closest to Nigel’s wrist, a patternless option in tangerine. She picked it up and beckoned Andrea over with a bend of one finger. Once close enough, she draped the tie over her assistant's left shoulder to compare it against the large apricot-toned hibiscus on the print of her blouse. It was exactly the color she was looking for, and as Miranda smoothed the fabric with her hand, she could feel Andrea’s heart thundering beneath her palm. A pink blush crept up her chest and neck, and as it made its way to her cheeks, Miranda silently admired how lovely the hue was there.

Unfortunately for them, though, Ava's got a fancy Time Bureau Gala to attend, and Sara's far too stubborn to cancel on her. They force themself to go even though they're not really up for it, simply resigning themself to having an even rougher time. Ava can tell her partner isn't doing well the second they walk into the room, and she tries to slip out of the gala with them as soon as she can so she can get them home and take care of them.
