“You don’t like a little fire?” Rin teased, lifting her hand again to let the flames curl between her fingers, casting dancing shadows across Nezhas face.
“I like it too much,” he said roughly, his gaze steady.
The wine and the swaying of the sampan blurred the edges of Rin’s vision, but her mind was sharper now, and every heartbeat, every breath between them, suddenly felt unbearably loud.
“You never said that before,” she said, her voice a bit smaller now.
“I never could,” Nezha admitted, looking away for a second, like the words cost him something.
“Because of who we are?” she asked, already knowing the answer.
He nodded. “Because of who we have to be.”

Summary
As a favor to Kitay, Rin takes on the job of Tech Director for his student-run play. It's good for her resume, gives her more to do, and lets her spend more time with him and Venka. What's the worst that could possibly happen? Then the cast list comes out, and who else was cast as the male lead but Rin's least favorite person, tormentor and academic rival Yin Nezha. Now forced to gain the respect of her new Stage Crew and balance school and work with her new responsibility, Rin has to do her best to avoid punching Nezha's irritating gorgeous face. Whether or not she'll succeed remains to be seen.

Getting into college could be a ride when you have a rival. Thankfully, for Nezha, hating Rin’s guts with a burning passion wasn’t trouble to him at all. Not even when it became a little too obsessive.
