Summary
Alex has seen cruel things in this world. Awful, horrifying, atrocious things.
She has seen corpses, has smelled copper, has heard those heart wrenching cries of despair, has felt warm blood of those she’d tried to save with her own two hands.
And back then, she had prided herself with never stooping down to that level of the monsters that were the cause.
But now….
Now none of it compares to this feeling.
None of it even rises to the occasion.
Because this horror is personal.
This pain is hers.

Summary
"Whoa, and I thought we looked like crap."
Maggie turns, mimicking his visor gesture as she gazes past swirling sirens and yellow police tape to see what he’s pointing at.
And oh...
She has a pretty good idea.
Across the way, Maggie sees Supergirl leaning wilted against the wall of the Baker Hugh Skyscraper, hands hitched over her head, eyes squeezed shut as she raked in air with such a laborious effort that the detective recognizes the trouble she’s having from yards away and she realizes after a moment the blonde was shaking, vibrating almost.
Well that wasn’t good. \\///ll
Another day. Another world ending event.
And another hero who doesn't know when to take a break.

Summary
They’re going nowhere in particular and that’s almost better than having a destination, but it’s something that’s unspoken that they’ve planned to do, until, at least, the news cycle died down. But the more time they all spend together, the more time Kara spends in this state, Maggie realizes that the most worrisome thing isn’t her anxiety or those waking nightmares she had every few days, it’s her sense of detachment.
The sense that Kara is looking at this from the outside in as she drifts from place to place.
The sense that Kara is pretending. \\\\
Supergirl is pardoned after seven months in prison for her alleged role in the White House Terror Attack and in an ill-conceived road trip as they wait for the media outrage to die down, Maggie realizes that fighting to get her released isn't nearly as hard as the recovery.\\\\
Could be read as a sequel to The Pardon or a stand alone.
