There are no suppressants in this dangerous world, so he gives off the fearful pheromones and it leads to Rick almost getting assaulted and gang-raped on the highway. He's saved by an Alpha before they can, swinging a barbed wire bat around, wearing a leather jacket in the heat.
The man stepped forward, his voice a low rumble. "You boys look like you're having some fun. Mind if I join in?"
Rick watched as the scene unfolded, his heart pounding in his chest. He didn't know who this man was, didn't know what he wanted. But he knew one thing for certain - he was Rick's only chance at survival.
